Partner With Us: Become a Certified Career Counselor

Do you have a degree in Psychology or are you currently working in the education field? Do you have a genuine passion for helping students understand themselves, make informed career choices and build a better future?

If your answer is yes, you may be ready to take the next step towards becoming a professional career counsellor.

Join the LearningWithIQplus Career Counsellor Network

LearningWithIQplus invites Psychology professionals and education professionals to join our growing network of dedicated Career Counsellors and Educational Partners.

We provide much more than assessment tools.

Our Career Counsellor Onboarding Program combines a comprehensive career assessment framework, practical training, real-case experience and, most importantly, close handholding during your initial counselling cases.

You will learn how to understand and interpret assessment results, connect a student’s abilities, interests, personality and mind wellness with suitable career options, and confidently communicate your recommendations to students and parents.

You will not be expected to start on your own.

We will be with you through your first few cases—demonstrating, guiding, observing and providing feedback—until you gain the confidence to conduct professional career counselling sessions independently.

We will also support you with ready-to-use posters, banners and other marketing material to help you promote your services and build your own counselling practice.

Career Counsellor Onboarding Program

Becoming a good career counsellor is much more than conducting an aptitude test and suggesting a few careers.

At LearningWithIQplus, we provide you with India’s most comprehensive framework, and assessment tools, practical training and, most importantly, close handholding during your initial cases.

We will be with you as you conduct your first few counselling sessions. You will observe how an experienced counsellor conducts the session, how test results are explained to students and parents, how different factors are brought together to identify suitable career options, and how to conduct a professional and impactful career counselling session.

We will also guide you in marketing your services and provide ready-to-use posters, banners and other promotional material that you can use to reach potential students.

Step 1 – Experience LearningWithIQplus Yourself

Before you start counselling students, we want you to experience exactly what your students will experience.

Visit LearningWithIQplus.com and take the complete assessment package free of cost as part of our onboarding process.

This is important because, unless you personally experience the tests and understand how different abilities are assessed, it is difficult to confidently explain the results to students and parents.

Our assessment framework is comprehensive and scientific. Instead of depending on a single aptitude test, it looks at multiple dimensions of a student’s abilities, personality, motivation and wellbeing.

After completing the tests, go through your own results and try to understand what they say about you.

Your background in Psychology will certainly be helpful, but you do not need to know everything at this stage. We will teach you how to understand and interpret the results during the training.

Your first step is simple:

Take the complete LearningWithIQplus assessment – FREE for onboarding candidates.

Step 2 – Training & Certification

After experiencing the assessment yourself, you can decide whether you would like to build your career as a counsellor using the LearningWithIQplus framework.

If you decide to proceed, you can enrol for our Career Counsellor Training & Certification Program.

Training Fee: ₹2,000

This includes a one-to-one, approximately 3-hour training session.

The fee is intentionally kept affordable. You can recover this investment through your first couple of counselling cases.

We also want you to have some commitment to the process. Our experience shows that once counsellors start working with real students, many practical questions arise. We therefore prefer to spend sufficient time with you and answer these questions properly rather than providing only a theoretical training session.

What will you learn?

  1. The Philosophy of Career Counselling

Understand the fundamental principle:

Best Career = Passion + Abilities + Opportunities

Learn how these three factors need to come together before recommending a career.

  1. Understanding Passion

Learn how to identify a student’s genuine interests and distinguish passion from temporary interest or fantasy.

  1. Understanding Test Results

Learn how to integrate different test results and, more importantly, how to explain them in simple language to students and parents.

  1. Identifying Student Abilities

Understand why a student’s abilities are one of the most important factors in career selection and how to interpret the different ability measures.

  1. Mind Wellness – The Foundation for Any Career

A career recommendation cannot be meaningful if a student is struggling with significant mental or emotional difficulties.

No career can truly be pursued successfully unless the student has a reasonably sound and healthy mind.

This is why Mind Wellness is an important part of the LearningWithIQplus framework.

Our assessment package includes tests that proactively identify possible areas of concern in a student’s mental and emotional wellbeing. These insights help the counsellor understand whether issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, confidence or other areas of wellbeing may need attention before—or alongside—career planning.

The objective is not to label a student. It is to ensure that mental wellbeing is not overlooked while making important career decisions.

  1. Personality and Career Choice

Understand the importance of the student’s personality in making career decisions and why the same career may not be equally suitable for every student.

  1. Identifying Career Options

Learn how to move from assessment results to realistic and suitable career options.

  1. Understanding Different Career Pathways

Gain an overview of opportunities in:

  • Arts

  • Commerce

  • Science

  • Engineering

  • Medical

  • Other emerging and specialised fields

  1. Understanding Entrance Examinations

Understand how examinations and pathways such as IIT/JEE, CET, UPSC, SAT and others can influence career planning.

  1. Choosing the Right Classes and Subjects

Learn how to guide students regarding subject and stream choices, particularly around Class 10 and Class 11.

  1. Career Opportunities in the AI Era

Understand how Artificial Intelligence is changing jobs, careers and the skills students will need in the future.

The training combines this experience with practical exposure to real counselling cases, helping aspiring counsellors understand not only what the assessment results say, but also how to use those results effectively while interacting with students and parents.

Step 3 – Your First Cases: Learn by Doing

This is the most important part of our onboarding.

Once you have completed the training, you will start working with real students.

You will use your own contacts and marketing efforts to bring counselling cases. You collect the counselling fee from your clients and can recover your initial training investment through your first few cases.

Our charges during the onboarding stage

  • ₹600 per student – LearningWithIQplus assessment

  • ₹1,000 per counselling session – our participation and support

A typical counselling session lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and involves the student and parents.

These are specially discounted charges for counsellors in the onboarding stage. The purpose is to provide you with close support while also compensating us for the time spent with you and the student.

We progressively hand over the counselling process to you.

Cases 1 & 2

We drive the session. You observe and participate when appropriate.

You will see how we:

  • Start the counselling conversation

  • Understand the student and parents

  • Interpret the assessment results

  • Connect abilities, interests, personality and wellbeing

  • Identify suitable career directions

  • Explain our recommendations

After the session, we will explain why particular career options were recommended.

Cases 3 & 4

You drive the session. We participate when required.

Before the session, we can discuss your approach and help you prepare.

After the session, we discuss:

  • What went well

  • What could be improved

  • How the results could have been interpreted differently

  • How the career recommendations could be strengthened

Case 5

You conduct the complete session. We observe.

By this stage, our objective is for you to feel confident enough to conduct a professional career counselling session independently.

This progressive approach—from observation → guided practice → independent counselling—is a central part of our onboarding program.

Step 4 – Start Your Own Career Counselling Practice

Once you are confident, you can conduct your counselling sessions independently. For every student, the LearningWithIQplus assessment charge is ₹600.  Once the student completes the assessment, you can download the assessment report directly from the portal and use it during your counselling session.

You can use your own network, contacts and marketing efforts to build your client base. We will support you with ready-to-use marketing material such as posters and banners that you can use to promote your services.  You can charge anywhere between Rs 1500 – 2500 per case depending on the region you belong to. You can tie up with a few foreign universities to further expand your profession.

Our objective is not merely to train you.

Our objective is to help you become confident enough to run your own career counselling practice.

Step 5 – An Opportunity Beyond Career Counselling

Career counselling often creates a deeper connection with students and parents.

During counselling sessions, some students may need additional support with areas such as:

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Personality development

  • Learning difficulties

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression-related concerns

  • Digital or Internet addiction

  • Other psychological or emotional concerns

For many students, career counselling is therefore the first point of contact through which such needs become visible.

If you are interested in pursuing psychological counselling as an additional professional area, there is an opportunity to work with us using a similar model—or to develop your own independent practice.

This can create another valuable professional opportunity for counsellors who have the appropriate Psychology background and training.
